I haven’t blogged in a while now. I’ve been very busy adulting to earn some dough for my future travels. My original target is to post a couple of posts in a week but I failed. I’m such a disappointment. I can even see my mother in heaven shaking her head now.

You see, there’s nothing wrong with adulting. We’ve been preparing for this since the beginning. I can clearly remember my parents saying, “Finish your studies and get a decent job so you can buy everything you want”. So I did finish my studies eventually. Got a decent job. But my parents never told me about the stress and unhappiness it can bring. Yes I can buy some of the things that I want. I can now afford to travel to different countries for leisure. But I never thought that the process is this bloody. I thought it only involves sniffing marshmallows, sliding from a rainbow, and eating cotton candy clouds along the way.

A couple of weeks ago, my new Project Manager visited the minesite for the first. The first time we met, he asked me if I am a Filipino and greeted me in Bisaya. He worked with many Filipinos before and majority of them are Bisayas. Immediately after that, he asked me if I’m happy here. I just laughed and answered yes. Maybe if he asked me a year and a half ago, I would have answered “Yaaaaas!” immediately. And maybe read to him my essay on how much I love my stay here in Burkina Faso.

I’m just so stressed right now. It feels like I’m devoting my entire life to my job. I mean, it’s not a bad thing but I think there’s more to life than earning money to live. I’m still young but I’m all dried up. I don’t know. This isolation from the real world really intensifies my emotions.

Sorry for the negativity. I’m just confused with my life right now. But don’t worry, more travel posts and good vibes soon. And vlogs too! Speaking of vlogs, my latest vlog is up on my youtube channel now. We visited this Pink Lake in Dakar. You can find the video below:
