Testsie Roll: Lomography CN800 | Nikon F3 | Japan

Second blog post in a year. Wow. I’m not even sure what’s happening right now lol. But yeah here I am sharing something that nobody asked for.

For this Testsie Roll, I will be sharing my shots using Lomography CN800. CN means color negative for those who are not familiar with the terminology. It’s not my first time using this film stock. Actually, Lomo CN800 is one of my favorite film stocks. It’s up there below Fuji Industrial which was discontinued several years back. RIP.

Just a life update, Obon Holidays is almost over. I didn’t travel just like last year because COVID is real and I can’t with this humidity. Japan summer is the worse. Ugh. But also, it’s been raining the whole week so good decision for me. As I write this pos it is still raining. I’ll insert a photo of my view below:

I’m so basic I know. I was supposed to work in a Blue Bottle Coffee just across this Starbucks but of course they’re full. I hate hipster cafes. They’re always full. At least from where I’m sitting now, I can see a lot of dogs in their raincoat. Not a bad view IMO.

Alright, let’s get back to business. I finished the film roll after several days of shooting. Also, this will not be a technical review. I just want to dump my photos TBH.

First venue is Enoshima. I waited after sunset to use the Lomo CN800 with my Nikon F3 because of its low light capabilities. It turned out better than expected especially in the shots where there’s light coming from the food stalls.

The next day, I decided to go out again. I wanted to visit the Shinjuku Giant 3D Cat but got lucky I get to witness a protest/rave. I took several shots and below are the outcome. I love the outcome of the Lomo CN800 during the day. I love to pair it with my Contax T2 for daytime shoots.

After the protest, I decided to catch the sunset in the famous Yanaka Staircase. I was a bit late so I missed it but I still snapped some shots.

Still a bit early to go home so I looked up some place to go and learned that that day was the last day of Mitama Mitsuri. A very interesting festival where they light up 30 thousand lanterns. I was so overwhelmed with the sight. It was so magical. I didn’t know where to start. I’m not even sure if my photographs give justice to the festival.
