So this is it! After four years of not blogging, I’m back at it again. I started blogging when I was in the University. Internet back then was still sloppy. I don’t even have a decent internet connection back in the day. But I managed to post my thoughts online of course just to relieve my stress from all the stresses in life. That’s the main purpose of blogging isn’t it?
Jump to the present time, I’m already on my mid-20s and working as a bread winner for my family somewhere in West Africa. Btw, I’m Mike. Born and raised in the Philippines and currently living in Burkina Faso to earn some dough and fund all my luxuries in life. What I meant for “my luxury” is food, books and travels. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering which I used to penetrate one of the giants of the Heavy Equipment Industry which is quite awesome and pretty badass. I’m scared of heights and my favorite color is red, sometimes blue, and sometimes black. YOLO. Pick every color you want.
I really love books. When I was studying, I see to it that I can read 3-6 books a month. But now, I can barely pick up a book. I’m that busy (and tired) always. Well, I still have that dream to have my very own private library. I started building my book collection already. If I have time to shop books online, I take every opportunity. It’s just sad that I cannot read them right away.
I also enjoy travelling. I have been to several countries already but mostly for training or for official business. But for my home leave this year, I tried backpacking in Malaysia and Cambodia but not the hardcore backpacking. I only backpacked for a couple of weeks. I salute those guys who would leave everything behind just for their love to travel. I wish that I have that courage also but for now, I still need a job for my future travels.
UPDATE: of January 2019, I’ve been to some other countries. 10 countries so far: Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Taiwan, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.
UPDATE 2: I’m currently living in Japan for almost 2 years now and currently enjoying film photography (and travel).
Welcome to my life. Wait, do I need to credit Simple Plan for that?
Great to know you love travelling. Malaysia has lots to offer. Welcome!
I love travelling but I only have limited time per year because of errr.. work.
A little work and a little play goes well too. I travel for work and try to fit in something between work assignments. Where would you like to travel to most?
I’m planning of a backpacking for my vacation next year across South East Asia including Penang and Ipoh in Malaysia. Yeah. I know it’s a little early but i’m excited already.
That sounds great. I love those two places. I could drop you an email on some interesting things to see if you like.
That would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
I’m really enjoying reading your blog 🙂 I’m back at it too after a hiatus. But I think your wit, and humor in the style of your writing will make your blog definitely take off. I can’t wait to read more of your travels and life in general. Keep it up! 🙂
Thank you! This means a lot to me. I also enjoy reading yours. Those chinese foods look enticing. Can’t wait to cook your recipes in the future.
Awww salamat po! 🙂
If you go and stay in Johor Bahru you can then walk or bike or take a bus to Singapore.
Yes. Thank you. This christmas vacation I’ll visit Malaysia and SG for a couple of weeks. Thanks for the tip!
You’ll save loads of money and have better adventure 🙂
Yep. Thank you. Also planning to go to Penang for a few days. Have you been there?
Yes, its a good place. I went there 2012 and 2013. Plenty to see but its not a good place for beach time
I heard its like a food mecca in Malaysia. Foooooood!
Hi Mike! Thanks a lot for choosing to follow my blog. I’m so grateful for your support.
I can’t wait to hear your stories. 🙂
